Heroes the Mobile Game released

Today is the official release of the Heroes Official Mobile Game.
For further details about the game, check out our recap from the press event that was held here in NYC a couple of weeks ago. To purchase the game, visit the Heroes: The Official Mobile Game page at the Gameloft website. There you can also take a look at the official trailer.

Details of Heroes: The Mobile Game

Last night, Gameloft and Nokia held a press event at Nokia's flagship store in NYC to present Heroes: The Mobile Game. Heroes-Clues was invited, and we are excited to report the details:

View pictures and details of the event, as well as new screencaps of the game at this Flickr album.

In the game, the player takes turns playing Hiro, Niki and Peter, and can use their unique powers. Each character also has a different style of gaming. For example, Niki/Jessica's levels are the most typical fighting game levels, while Hiro's levels are more strategic. There are additional styles within the game -- I noticed one part that resembles Tetris.

Additional Heroes characters (I noticed at least Claire, Mohinder, Micah, and Sylar) also participate throughout the game. Included is a fight that I'm sure we have all wanted to see: Peter vs. Sylar

There are 11 levels within four locations: NY city streets, future-NYC, the museum, and Las Vegas. Each level takes about 5 minutes to complete, totaling in approximately 2 hours of playable game time.

*Attention spoiler junkies (don't worry, no spoilers here): As the game was written in collaboration with the show’s writers, the storyline follows Season One AND also includes some exclusive info about the show that will not show up until well into Season Two.

Again, see the Flickr album for screencaps, as well as details and photos from the event. A short video of the game being played (sound is from the event, not the game):

Heroes: The Mobile Game will be released on October 5th in the US, and will be available for most handsets on all major carriers.

Heroes Season 2 premier day!!

The Monday that we've been waiting for has finally arrived! Heroes Season Two will start tonight, but there are also plenty of other things to check out today:

  • Stay tuned for details about our first of several weekly contests here at Heroes-Clues. Prize packages will include goodies from NBC, Entertainment Weekly, autographed items from the Heroes World Tour, and more.

  • Today the Hey! Nielsen network is opening their beta version to the public -- and is kicking it off with a "TV Blog" contest, in which they have selected us to participate (see Friday's post). Click on the link above to show your support!!

  • Today we will be attending Gameloft’s press event for Heroes: The Mobile Game, and will report the details. In case you are in the NYC area, they will also be allowing the first 50 fans into the event (5pm - 8pm) at the Nokia store on East 57th Street and 5th Ave.

  • The final chapter of the "Sword Saint" video series is scheduled to air today at the Yamagato Fellowship website, under the section "Videos/Events".

  • A live blog will be posted by Tim Kring and Jack Coleman via the NBC Heroes site after the season premiere at 10pm (ET). For now, you can leave your questions about the new season, the characters (new and old) or just general questions about the show at the most recent post.

  • Also tonight, and each night this week (Monday-Friday, Sept. 24-28), Nissan will be giving away a 2008 collector's edition Nissan Rogue SL signed by "Heroes" creator Tim Kring. From NBC:
Starting in the 8 p.m. hour, NBC will air a custom snipe alerting viewers of their chance to win the car as it "drives" across the screen. During the 9 p.m. hour, viewers will watch for a pod buster promo spot which introduces a trivia question about the show they are watching — "Heroes" (Monday), "The Biggest Loser" (Tuesday), "Bionic Woman" (Wednesday), "The Office" (Thursday) and "Las Vegas" (Friday). Viewers will be instructed to go online to www.nbc.com/nissan to answer the question and enter for a chance to win the car.
    Best of luck to everyone!
So, check out all of the Season Two premier day goodies! As always, if you spot something that hasn't been posted, drop us line.

We will come back on September 24 – run 11 episodes in a row, take only 4 weeks off, run 7 in a row, take only 3 weeks off and then finish the season with a final run of 6 episodes.

And, on top of all that, when HEROES ends, Tim is going to give the fans 6 episodes of a new original series HEROES ORIGINS.
Visit his blog, "Beeming Beeman," for further details.

  • Tim Kring will be posting via a live blog via the NBC Heroes site during the night of the season two premier.

  • Speaking of the NBC site, go check out the new layout and features! The new site went live today, including the new section "Evolutions". New additions are on their way.

Details of new Heroes merchandise

Yesterday's NBC press release has confirmed production of the graphic novel compilation, trading cards, posters, calendar, apparel, action figures (I know that answers a lot of the emails I've received), and a video game (as rumored):

The publishing category is the cornerstone of the early licensing program. Expanding on the comic book lore created by the series, DC Comics will develop a hardcover compilation book of the popular online Heroes graphic novels currently available on NBC.com. The new book, which is slated to be available worldwide this fall, will also include the original Tim Sale artwork as seen on the show, offering fans a one-of-a-kind entertainment collectible. Random House will introduce "Saving Charlie," an original novel based on the characters Hiro and Charlie created by Tim Kring. The story is scheduled for release in late 2007. Finally, Titan Publishing will launch the official Heroes magazine. A bi-monthly publication uniquely presented in comic book style, the magazine will lift the lid on the lives of the stars of the show, from the actors and actresses to the back room special effects experts.

In addition to the publishing program, Universal has named several top-tier partners to create product for release this fall and winter in the U.S. and Canada. Trading card manufacturer Topps has been tapped for a full line of trading cards featuring the Heroes characters and in-depth episodic coverage. The trading card packs will also include randomly inserted one-of-a-kind rare cards such as autographs, hand-drawn artist sketches and cards embedded with a piece of actual costume material worn on the show. WizKids Inc., a subsidiary of Topps and creator of the award-winning "Clix" Collectible Miniatures Game system, will be adding Heroes into their HeroClix line, which already includes characters from the DC, Marvel and Dark Horse universes. MeadWestvaco will introduce a 2008 calendar, and Scorpio Posters will add traditional wall posters to the merchandising mix. In addition, Changes will develop an officially licensed Heroes apparel line.

Premier collectibles maker, Mezco Toyz will be responsible for developing toys and specialty product including collectible action figures, dioramas and deluxe figures in a variety of scale sizes ranging from 3" to 18", all inspired by the characters and themes from the Heroes universe. Mezco's Heroes product will hit retail in early 2008.

Finally, Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group and Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, are partnering to create an interactive video game based on and inspired by the Heroes universe.
In addition, some details were released regarding some international products:
On the international front, several licenses have been confirmed with product launching in late 2007. GBEye Limited will launch a series of posters in the UK while Trademark will handle apparel in that territory and Danilo Promotions Ltd. will develop 2008 calendars for both the UK and Ireland. In Italy, Edibas Srl. will unveil a series of calendars, stickers and photo albums later this year while partner ZigZag will launch posters in Germany during the same timeframe.
