“Create Your Hero” contest is back!

The “Create Your Hero” contest is back!
This winter, the “Create Your Hero” contest let us viewers have a hand in creating a new hero from scratch - via weekly votes for his/her specific attributes. Each week, Sprint users also got their own unique question. Two heroes were created: Audrey and Santiago.

Now it is time to vote! The winning character will appear as the subject of a brand new Live Action web series written by the creators of Heroes, debuting around the November sweeps week.

If you were at the San Diego Comic-Con this past week, you may have also noticed that “Create Your Hero” promo was live at the NBC booth with giveaways and exclusive comic books with an illustration by the late Michael Turner.

The “Create Your Hero” website is up and running, so go vote!

Sprint users can also vote via text message:
To vote for Santiago -- Text A to 6789
To vote for Audrey -- Text B to 6789

Pictures and Video from Big Apple Con

The Big Apple Con took place this past weekend (November 16-18, 2007) in NYC. Heroes stars Hayden Panettiere and Kristen Bell were among the huge list of guests, along with artist Tim Sale, and (of course) Heroes-Clues!

Big Apple Con

Tim Sale, Hayden Panettiere, and Kristen Bell will all be attending The Big Apple Comic Book, Art, Toy & Sci-Fi Expo ("The National"), NYC’s longest running Comic Book & Arts Convention:

{New York, NY} - Mike Carbonaro presents the 11th Annual 2007 NATIONAL BIG APPLE COMIC BOOK, ART, TOY, & SCI-FI EXPO. This three-day pop-culture expo, November 16th thru 18th, will take place at the Penn Plaza Pavilion, on 7th Avenue at 33rd Street, directly across from Madison Square Garden. A gathering of fans and professionals, the expo features over 300 dealers & exhibitors, showcasing comics, toys, action figures, original art, videos, autographs, non-sports cards, TV & movie memorabilia, and much more.
To answer some of the questions that had been rolling in:
Hayden will be available on Saturday and Sunday, and Kristen will be there only on Sunday.

Hayden and Kristen will probably charge around $20-$30 per autograph. It is unconfirmed if there will be a limit on the number of items they sign. Photos are handled separately. Each of those two celebs will spend a certain amount of time at Froggy's photo booth, where for a fee (around $30), you can have a photo taken with her and an autograph on the photo immediately.

Tim Sale's autographs should cost less, and he will likely allow photographs at his table.

Tickets to the event are $18 in advance, or $20 at the door. There is also the option of a "Heroes pass," where for $100, you get ALL Three Days Pass Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 16th, 17th and 18th. This includes express VIP check-in, front of the line express for Hayden and Kristen, signed personal Froggy Photo-Op with one of them, and more surprises TBA, limited to 100 passes.

For further details and ticket orders, see bigapplecon.com

Details of Heroes: The Mobile Game

Last night, Gameloft and Nokia held a press event at Nokia's flagship store in NYC to present Heroes: The Mobile Game. Heroes-Clues was invited, and we are excited to report the details:

View pictures and details of the event, as well as new screencaps of the game at this Flickr album.

In the game, the player takes turns playing Hiro, Niki and Peter, and can use their unique powers. Each character also has a different style of gaming. For example, Niki/Jessica's levels are the most typical fighting game levels, while Hiro's levels are more strategic. There are additional styles within the game -- I noticed one part that resembles Tetris.

Additional Heroes characters (I noticed at least Claire, Mohinder, Micah, and Sylar) also participate throughout the game. Included is a fight that I'm sure we have all wanted to see: Peter vs. Sylar

There are 11 levels within four locations: NY city streets, future-NYC, the museum, and Las Vegas. Each level takes about 5 minutes to complete, totaling in approximately 2 hours of playable game time.

*Attention spoiler junkies (don't worry, no spoilers here): As the game was written in collaboration with the show’s writers, the storyline follows Season One AND also includes some exclusive info about the show that will not show up until well into Season Two.

Again, see the Flickr album for screencaps, as well as details and photos from the event. A short video of the game being played (sound is from the event, not the game):

Heroes: The Mobile Game will be released on October 5th in the US, and will be available for most handsets on all major carriers.

Heroes Season 2 premier day!!

The Monday that we've been waiting for has finally arrived! Heroes Season Two will start tonight, but there are also plenty of other things to check out today:

  • Stay tuned for details about our first of several weekly contests here at Heroes-Clues. Prize packages will include goodies from NBC, Entertainment Weekly, autographed items from the Heroes World Tour, and more.

  • Today the Hey! Nielsen network is opening their beta version to the public -- and is kicking it off with a "TV Blog" contest, in which they have selected us to participate (see Friday's post). Click on the link above to show your support!!

  • Today we will be attending Gameloft’s press event for Heroes: The Mobile Game, and will report the details. In case you are in the NYC area, they will also be allowing the first 50 fans into the event (5pm - 8pm) at the Nokia store on East 57th Street and 5th Ave.

  • The final chapter of the "Sword Saint" video series is scheduled to air today at the Yamagato Fellowship website, under the section "Videos/Events".

  • A live blog will be posted by Tim Kring and Jack Coleman via the NBC Heroes site after the season premiere at 10pm (ET). For now, you can leave your questions about the new season, the characters (new and old) or just general questions about the show at the most recent post.

  • Also tonight, and each night this week (Monday-Friday, Sept. 24-28), Nissan will be giving away a 2008 collector's edition Nissan Rogue SL signed by "Heroes" creator Tim Kring. From NBC:
Starting in the 8 p.m. hour, NBC will air a custom snipe alerting viewers of their chance to win the car as it "drives" across the screen. During the 9 p.m. hour, viewers will watch for a pod buster promo spot which introduces a trivia question about the show they are watching — "Heroes" (Monday), "The Biggest Loser" (Tuesday), "Bionic Woman" (Wednesday), "The Office" (Thursday) and "Las Vegas" (Friday). Viewers will be instructed to go online to www.nbc.com/nissan to answer the question and enter for a chance to win the car.
    Best of luck to everyone!
So, check out all of the Season Two premier day goodies! As always, if you spot something that hasn't been posted, drop us line.

  • CHOSEN BY NIELSEN:
We are honored to have been directly selected by the Nielsen Company (the company that does the TV ratings) as one of the very first blogs to participate in a new online network. Currently we are the only Heroes blog to have received this special invitation. Right now they are in a closed Beta (not accessible to the public), but soon you will be able to vote for Heroes-Clues from among the best TV-related blogs on the web. We'll be counting on you!!

  • HEROES SEASON TWO BEGINS! Yes, I already mentioned this at the start of the post, but it's worth mentioning again, don't you think? The official schedule, from Greg Beeman, Director/Producer:
We will come back on September 24 – run 11 episodes in a row, take only 4 weeks off, run 7 in a row, take only 3 weeks off and then finish the season with a final run of 6 episodes.

And, on top of all that, when HEROES ends, Tim is going to give the fans 6 episodes of a new original series HEROES ORIGINS.
Visit his blog, "Beeming Beeman," for further details.

  • Tim Kring will be posting via a live blog via the NBC Heroes site during the night of the season two premier.

  • Speaking of the NBC site, go check out the new layout and features! The new site went live today, including the new section "Evolutions". New additions are on their way.
