VotePetrelli site hacked

Thanks to Slyder and Josh for reporting the changes over at the Vote Petrelli website. Looks like our Wireless friend has been busy.
Slyder also reported that some people have received a recorded phone call from Nathan Petrelli campaigning for votes.

Took some of your advice and hacked Petrelli's website today to make sure the masses know the truth before they hit the polls. We did it!

The logic bomb is toast. I don't envy Brian right now, but then again, you reap what you sow.

He's not a very good liar and Linderman is a smart man. I doubt that he bought what Brian tried to feed him. I wouldn't.

I also wouldn't worry too much about the weekend. There's no way Brian is going to get this fixed by Monday. Rest well and be satisfied at a job well done.

Brian: That can't happen.

Kelly: Well, it did. [Pause... Brian looks like he's had a revelation]
Brian?

Brian: We can't change that password. Linderman would start asking too many questions.

Kelly: But he needs to know if somebody's tampering with the program.

Brian: You get Walter on the conference line. Start the tests. I'm gonna cypher back through the security filters.

Hana: Looks like we're the cause of a sleepless night for our friends at Linderman's voting company. Don't worry about the new encryption. I got it.

Brian: We've been through this a hundred times. No one got inside.

Kelly: I still think someone could have done it invisibly.

Brian: Kelly, that is not possible, okay? I've been throught the audit logs, and there was no attempted acccess.

Kelly: Maybe it's for the best.

Brian: We're just following orders, Kelly.

Kelly: But as long as the test results coming out are accurate, no one will know that the bomb didn't work.

Brian: Yeah, except Linderman... I'll get our friend Walter on the line.
[Walter appears]
Walter: Did you sleep in your clothes? You look terrible!

Brian: Oh. Um. We decided to stay up to write another level of encryption.

Walter: Is there something wrong?

Brian: No, um.. It's just Kelly was just worried about a single line of code, and... everything was fine with it, but I rewrote a new line to get her off my back.

Walter: It's always better to err on the side of caution.

Brian: I couldn't agree with you more. You are right. So, Walter, um... Why don't you go ahead and throw your votes in, and we'll get back to you this afternoon.

Walter: All right. We'll see you later.

Brian: Bye.

Our source was correct, the update is at Hana's blog. The new post:

Pay close attention. This is important. It may be the most important thing we ever do.

The Petrelli election is being rigged. Linderman owns the company that designed the new voting system purchased by the New York State Voting Authority. Linderman's top software engineers have created a "logic bomb" to tamper with the results, but I think one of them may have turned and hidden the log-in information on the web.

I was able to link to the backend of the voting system's remote interface. Below are the locks. We need to find the keys. But this is beyond hacking into a firewall - the codes are buried deep.

I'm investigating further and will be in touch tomorrow with information that should help us get inside and put a stop to Linderman's plans.
