Now it is time to vote! The winning character will appear as the subject of a brand new Live Action web series written by the creators of Heroes, debuting around the November sweeps week.

If you were at the San Diego Comic-Con this past week, you may have also noticed that “Create Your Hero” promo was live at the NBC booth with giveaways and exclusive comic books with an illustration by the late Michael Turner.

Echo DeMille's profile

A new e-mail, with the subject "Echo Demille", indicates that there is a profile for Echo DeMille viewable in the Assignment Tracker at the Primatech Paper website:

Learn more about our newest member of the Level 5 family at http://www.primatechpaper.com/AT_2.0/assignmentTracker.php.

A new text appears to provide the password:
EDgch49la
His profile lists him as a African American male from San Diego, CA, born December 9, 1983, and last seen in New York, NY. He is described as 6' 0" and 180 lbs with a medium build, and as having a medium complexion and brown hair. His alias is listed as "The Mailman" and, as expected, his occupation is "Mailman." There are no scars or marks indicated.

The profile confirms that he has the ability to "mimic or distort sounds, replicate frequencies, and create sonic blasts."

Personal History:
Echo DeMille has two brothers and a sister. He is the only one of the DeMille children not to serve in the military, and Echo's relationship with his father -- an ex-Navy SEAL -- has suffered as a consequence. Echo is closest to his sister Farah, a registered nurse.

Echo was profoundly affected when his eldest brother was killed while serving in Iraq. Later, Echo's troubled younger half-brother, Jesse, joined the military as well but was discharged during boot camp and was soon picked up the first of what would be a long series of misdemeanor and felony arrests. Echo was an early accomplice in many of Jesse's infractions but their paths diverged when Echo made his first breakthrough as a DJ.

According to an early interview with his local newspaper, Echo's self-described passion for DJing stemmed from a belief that music empowers humans on a subconscious level, increasing social potential and communication awareness. At one point, he described music as a way to hide as well as a way to get along. Apparently still unaware of his post-human abilities, Echo began to travel extensively to explore various cultures and their music traditions, and as a result, became increasingly known in club circles for both educating and entertaining his audiences through his unique, eclectic musical choices.

At the height of his success as a professional DJ, Echo announced his decision to become a mailman. He explained his choice by saying that he wanted the opportunity to serve his community and he had long admired the legendary consistency of the mail carrier to deliver “rain or shine.” Shortly after joining the Postal Service, Echo's power began to manifest.

A sound manipulator, Echo can mimic and distort noise, replicate frequencies, and create sonic blasts of devastating proportions. Echo has noticed that his ability to manipulate sound increases greatly when his fight-or-flight reflex is engaged. He seems to regard his ability to manipulate sound in all its forms as both a blessing and a curse, and he actively continues to explore the extent of his power.

For the past ten years, Echo has lived in Los Angeles, a city that he calls home. He recently purchased a house with his girlfriend, Gina, using funds saved over the course of several years.

Psychological Profile:
Despite -- and possibly also in reaction to -- his abilities, the subject considers himself a man of the people, quietly working as a mailman and moonlighting as a DJ. His personal correspondence and intimate conversations contain a high frequency of language regarding his loyalty to friends and loved ones.

However, the subject perceives his decision to hide his power of sound manipulation from his romantic partner to be a marked departure from his internal values. As a result, he has been experiencing a significant amount of cognitive dissonance, exacerbated by the subject's overall psychological inflexibility as a result of his father's strict upbringing. This cognitive dissonance has caused the subject to acknowledge for the first time that he may actually be repressing knowledge of his power's true limits to avoid moral conflicts.

Another outcome of the subject's psychological inflexibility is a high resistance to traditional psychoanalysis and interrogation techniques. Recent observation proves that, despite his conscious moral resistance, the subject instinctively taps his powers to defend himself when threatened, particularly in a context where his core values are at stake, such as his loyalty to his friends. This aggressive response has been aggravated by his recent encounters with the Company, by which he judges himself to have been "wronged," a term which resonates deeply in the subject's psyche.

This combination of factors indicates that extreme caution should be exercised in dealing with the subject.

Evs calls The Kill Squad "Sneaky Bastards"

New text:

They are not on my side, however, it's likely that they'll wipe out some of the agents that are still in my way. Keep an eye on Fallon and his team, for they may cause some serious damage. At least my actions have reasons.

Brendan (Lewis) Palmer's Profile

Brendan Lewis now has a profile (Subject C020) viewable in the Assignment Tracker at the Primatech Paper website. In the title bar, he is named "Brendan Palmer," but later in the profile he is mentioned as "Brendan Lewis." You may recall that the recent "The Kill Squad" graphic novels show him in action, as Donna and Thompson try to "bag and tag" him.

The password was found via a puzzle (view here): BLjtd19f

His profile lists him as a Caucasian American male from Saratoga Springs, Utah, born December 20, 1979. He is described as 6' 0" with a medium build, and as having a fair complexion and brown hair. There are no mentioned aliases, his weight is listed as n/a, and he has no scars or marks. He is listed as unemployed.

His ability is confirmed as "Plant manipulation, Regeneration":

Able to control and alter organic plant matter. Adaptive DNA mimics a variety of vegetation habits such as: cellular regeneration, UV energy absorption, and a telekinetic influence over nearby plant life.
Personal History:
Brendan Lewis grew up in Saratoga Springs. While a teenager, he discovered that he could slightly manipulate plants to grow faster. Soon after manifesting, he was bagged and tagged by Thompson Sr., then released back into society. Lewis spent the next two years attempting to evade surveillance. During that time, Lewis's ability developed to the point where he would manipulate medium-sized plants and roots. Tissue samples revealed that he also experienced increased healing. Thompson was able to recover Lewis outside of Boulder, Colorado. Lewis spent a year in a Company lab as extensive study was made of the limits of his powers. While being moved from a Level 2 to a Level 3 holding cell, Lewis was able to escape (see PXIR-9961 for incident analysis). At the time, Lewis was not considered a priority threat. Eventually, Lewis was sighted in Palmer, West Virginia, leading to his recovery by Agents Dunlap and Thompson in the nearby ghost town of Silver River.

During the recovery operation, it became clear that Lewis' powers had unexpectedly accelerated in development during his separation from the Company. Brendan Lewis is now considered a Level 5 powered individual. His cellular structure and biological systems are more plant-like than animal, and he exhibits extreme regenerative properties. He absorbs energy from photosynthesis and exhibits complete control over any plant life in his immediate vicinity. His known weaknesses include fire and herbicide.

Agents should note that Lewis has a highly negative stance toward the Company specifically and will react in a uniformly hostile manner toward any agents or staff. Also, Lewis' mutation continues to grow and intensify, and he should be monitored closely for additional, dangerous capabilities. (Sentence omitted: Classified)
Psychological Profile:
The subject exhibits moderate passive-aggressive tendencies, as well as early indicators for paranoid schizophrenia, the latter possibly exacerbated by his species transition and by the fact that he really is being followed by people who intend to conduct experiments upon him.

Communication patterns continue to evolve as his primary social focus shifts to the plant life around him, but all recent interaction with the Company suggests all classic comorbid conditions, including clinical depression and anxiety. Allowed to persist in the wild, the subject would likely experience a high degree of social dysfunction such as long-term unemployment, homelessness and possibly suicide.

The German - profile update

Thanks to Karen for reporting that The German's profile (Subject C014) has been updated in the Assignment Tracker at the Primatech Paper website.

As you may recall, the subject's image (aside from the pictures EVS added under the link Evidence), date of birth, occupations, scars and marks, personal history, and psychological profile were all missing from the tracker page.

While the date of birth is still omitted, the Occupations field has been updated as "Criminal" and the Scars and Marks field now indicates "None".

Personal History has been updated with:

[Paragraph Omitted: Classified]

The Company first learned abbout the subject after major law enforcement organizations across Europe and the United States linked a rash of unusual bank robberies to a single individual. The suspect -- known only as "The German" due to witness accounts of his accent -- apparently used extreme force to penetrate physical security measures, tearing bank vault doors in half and blasting holes through reinforced steel walls. Yet law enforcement agencies were unable to find any chemical or physical evidence of explosives or tools.

Despite a pre-operational consensus that the subject was a posthuman capable of manipulating metal, the extent of the subject's abilities was not realized until the acquisition itself. [Sentence Omitted: Classified] At one point, the subject was able to redirect bullets in mid-are, killing Agent Patterson with his own weapon. [Sentence Omitted: Classified]

[Paragraph Omitted: Classified]
Psychological Profile has been updated with:
As a result of the subject's initial counter-strategy upon regaining consciousness after retrieval -- see CSIR-0704 for facilities impact report -- the subject has been maintained under Class IV sedation while additional measures are implemented to facilitate further communication. [Sentence Omitted: Classified]

Pre-operational analysis indicated that the subject inflicted bodily and extraneous property damage only when necessary to achieve primary objectives - generally large-scale theft - but new intelligence gained during the subject retrieval suggests significant potential for improvement in the initial pyschological profile. Additional psychoanalysis is expected to reveal highly sociopathic instincts, apparently projected in close psychological association with the subject's posthuman ability.

Evs asks for help / The German's flight plans

A new text just arrived:

Either our European friend dies or a passenger plane goes down. Help me out. Check ur email or 9th Wonders at boards.9thwonders.com/index.php?showforum=101

ETA: A new e-mail, with the subject "The German's flight plans" has also arrived:

I've got plans for our metal-bending German friend, but we've hit a major snag. Dekker even called Thompson back at the Company to report it (http://boards.9thwonders.com/index.php?showtopic=63845&st=75).

The extraction team has drugged him so he doesn't throw any bullets or planes around, but he's still fighting it: he's started emanating an unconscious electromagnetic field that's interfering with electronics for a quarter-mile around.

The team has partially shielded their plane so it can fly, but when they take off, every other plane in the vicinity might drop like a rock. Cargo planes we can risk, but a commercial passenger jet crash would bring too much attention. We need to get that team off the ground before the Company decides to the plug on the walking magnet; not only would that be a waste of the trouble it took to get him, but I have some very important plans for pet German.

So here's the deal. According to the flight schedule, there are five planes taking off around the same time as the German. If we can prove that no passenger planes are within at least two runways of us, they've got a green light to launch.

Unfortunately, I don't know what runways those planes using.

I've got air traffic control communications, cargo records, and maintenance logs, and here's what they do tell me. The five planes are each carrying one of the following cargoes: heavy machinery, seafood, electronics, mail, and passengers. The five planes seem to be an Airbus A320, an MD-80, a 737, a DC-9, and an A300. The flight numbers are 227, 639, 91, 128, and 555. The team reports that there are five runways, numbered 1 to 5 from north to south.

The Company plane will be on a charter strip south of Runway 5. Get me proof that there are two runways between the German and the nearest passenger plane.

  • According to air traffic control, Flight 227 and Flight 639 have to have two runways in between them in order to have room to turn to their proper headings.
  • The flight schedule also says that Flight 91 is taking off from a runway somewhere south of Flight 128's, in order to avoid blocking Flight 128 in its terminal while taxiing.
  • The maintenance log has an entry that indicates that
