Heroes-Clues Banner Contest

We have a bunch of fun Heroes goodies from some very cool people, and it's time to start giving it away to some dedicated fans!

Our first contest involves creating a new banner for the Heroes-Clues site.
Banner specifications and contest details:

  • Send your banner(s), along with your name and email address to HeroesClues@gmail.com.
  • All banners must be submitted by Friday, October 12th, 2007.
  • Banner must comply with the current banner size (Width: 550px, Height: 150px).
  • Banners must feature the words 'Heroes Clues' ('-','360', and 'Evolutions' are optional).
  • Banners stolen from other sites are obviously not acceptable.
  • You may submit more than one banner.
  • Winner will be notified via email, and postal address will be requested (to receive the prize). If the winner does not respond within 7 days, the prize goes to the next runner-up.
The submitted banners will be posted, and readers will be able to vote for their favorite.

What will be the reward for all of your hard work? Well, the winning banner will be displayed on the site. Plus, the winner will have his/her choice between a Heroes Season One DVD set or a prize package that includes a official limited edition Heroes comic book (full size, not a mini-comic), a Vote Petrelli pin, and a helix temporary tattoo.

Everyone is eligible (well, except for me, of course).
I know that some of you have already submitted emails requesting to be a contributor here at the site. Since I have not yet officially announced the details of that, and therefore not yet chosen anyone, you are all eligible to enter the contests. So please do! :-)

Clips from next week's episode - "Lizards"

Many thanks to Stephen, for sending along the clips to next week's episode. Check them out (as you would probably guess, these contain spoilers) at this link.

Heroes Season Two Contests

Don't worry, the contests here at Heroes-Clues have not been forgotten!

The first of several contests (some weekly, though the first one will be longer) will be up by the end of the week. Prize packages will include goodies from NBC, Entertainment Weekly, autographed items from the Heroes World Tour, and more.

Stay tuned...

Updates at Corinthian and Primatech sites, phone line

Both the Corinthian Casino and Primatech Paper websites have been updated to reflect the consequences of events that took place during the end of Season One.

The Corinthian Casino site now features this notice:

"The workers and staff of the Corinthian Hotel are deeply saddened by the loss of our founder, Mr. Daniel Linderman. The historic hotel, located on the famed Las Vegas strip, is now closed and set for destruction later this year."
Currently you can still play the games and get into the archives.

The Primatech Paper site has a new link called "Information Concerning Noah Bennet", which contains the following message:
"We regret to inform that Noah Bennet is no longer an employee of Primatech Paper. All clients of Mr. Bennet will be contacted by a new Primatech Paper headquarters agent soon so that we may continue serving you with the same dedication and attention to detail provided by Mr. Bennet during his many years of service. As a valued customer, we look forward to a new beginning. Thank you for your cooperation and continued patronage."
His login at the secret area (the "Assignment Tracker") of the site no longer allows access.

The Primatech phone line remains the same, with the message that Bennet's extension (42307#) is no longer active (this change happened a few months ago).

The mobile sites appear to remain unchanged so far.

Thanks to Madammina for sending her update.

Season One Walk-through now online

Kudos to Mike for spotting this update:
The Season One Walk-through at the Evolutions section of the Heroes site is now up and running. If you are just joining the 360 (as it was called last season) / Evolutions, this is a great place to catch up on all of the online material since its start in January.

For additional info, you can also check out our archives, of course. ;-)

Details of Heroes: The Mobile Game

Last night, Gameloft and Nokia held a press event at Nokia's flagship store in NYC to present Heroes: The Mobile Game. Heroes-Clues was invited, and we are excited to report the details:

View pictures and details of the event, as well as new screencaps of the game at this Flickr album.

In the game, the player takes turns playing Hiro, Niki and Peter, and can use their unique powers. Each character also has a different style of gaming. For example, Niki/Jessica's levels are the most typical fighting game levels, while Hiro's levels are more strategic. There are additional styles within the game -- I noticed one part that resembles Tetris.

Additional Heroes characters (I noticed at least Claire, Mohinder, Micah, and Sylar) also participate throughout the game. Included is a fight that I'm sure we have all wanted to see: Peter vs. Sylar

There are 11 levels within four locations: NY city streets, future-NYC, the museum, and Las Vegas. Each level takes about 5 minutes to complete, totaling in approximately 2 hours of playable game time.

*Attention spoiler junkies (don't worry, no spoilers here): As the game was written in collaboration with the show’s writers, the storyline follows Season One AND also includes some exclusive info about the show that will not show up until well into Season Two.

Again, see the Flickr album for screencaps, as well as details and photos from the event. A short video of the game being played (sound is from the event, not the game):

Heroes: The Mobile Game will be released on October 5th in the US, and will be available for most handsets on all major carriers.

Graphic Novel #52: Flying Blind

It takes a certain kind of person to look up.

Claire Bennet and her family moved to sunny Southern California to begin life anew... and to hide from the mysterious company. The invincible cheerleader had left behind her extraordinary life of flying men and super strong women. Or did she?

Updates at NBC's Evolutions site, Hana's Blog, Vote Petrelli

Currently the new graphic novel is not yet available, but we did get a few site updates last night.
Thanks to Mike and Jmc0769 for keeping us posted on the premier day updates to the Heroes: Evolutions section of the NBC site:
The section now includes a sign-up page for Evolution updates, a link to the animated graphic novel area (currently airing "The Golden Handshake"), and a new interactive feature called "Issac's Loft". Currently you can explore Isaac's loft and click on his paintings to watch video clips from the first season.

We would also like to thank Madammina for reporting updates at Hana's blog and the Vote Petrelli site. In addition to her chosen translation of the Mayan prophecy article, Hana has also added a new post featuring a video and a link to the Heroes Evolutions site:

That Kensei was the ultimate samurai. Powerful, or a man with powers? I know it’s over hundreds of years ago, but do you think he had special abilities too? Perhaps this is all generational.

Here is something else I just found. Watch it. I think the two are related. It may hold a clue to the grand mystery of Evolution.

Ready to realize your own special ability? Stay on the journey by registering here.

HG
At the end of the video, a website is listed: www.almerloco16.com, which currently redirects to last week's NBC Heroes graphic novel.

Also, the Vote Petrelli now features a new statement from Nathan:

My fellow New Yorkers, it’s been a long and hard journey to the top of the mountain, and I thoroughly appreciate everything you have given me and have done for my family and I. This state is the archetype of this country, and has allowed for more opportunity than I ever thought imaginable. Winning the election on November 2nd was a thrill that I will never forget, nor would I want to. It’s something that will remain with me, even as I make the following statement.

In all the decisions I have made in my public life, I have always tried to do what was best for New York and its citizens. Recently I have encountered a situation that renders me unable to put the best interest of New York as my number one concern. Without going further into further details, I am resigning from my elected seat as Junior Senator of New York state, effective immediately.

This was never my intention, and I want all of you to know that my desire to do the right thing for the people of New York, the same quality that won my election, is the same desire and urge I have right now. Please do not worry about me or my family. While there are extenuating circumstances to explain my abrupt change of heart, I do not wish to delve deeply into any of my reasons, as they are personal. And in these hard times, privacy is important for my family.

Shanti update at the Activating Evolution website

On the main page at the Activating Evolution site, there is an update from Mohinder:

My Sister, Shanti
My family suffered a great loss when my sister, Shanti, died of a mysterious illness. The heartache it caused my family proved to be the impetus of much of my father’s research later on and, eventually, led me to follow in his path.

Shanti fell victim to a rare disease that I hope to one day understand and eradicate. Her death made me wonder how modern society would cope if a new pandemic suddenly broke out, ready to strike unsuspecting souls.

I have traveled many places, speaking to scientists, researchers and medical professionals about the history of pandemics, how viruses spread, and how vaccines are made. Their answers may one day provide important clues to my sister’s death and I hope they will be of great interest to you as well.

You can listen to these experts yourself at the link above, “interviews and resources.”

Sincerely,
Dr. Suresh
Click the link to the Interviews and Resources, and you will notice an addition about his sister's virus:
I recently found these videos. My father conducted them in his quest to learn more about the virus that tragically took the life of my sister Shanti.

Dr. Joseph Cadden
Joseph Cadden, a highly accomplished fellow trained in the USC Infectious Diseases Division, recently returned to USC after serving as managing partner of a group of more than 20 physicians in Riverside County, California. He offers comprehensive clinical and administrative expertise as the new Medical Director of the Rand Schrader HIV Clinic. In addition to his supervision of clinical activities, Dr. Cadden will act as a co-investigator for the Clinical Research Site of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG).

Interview: Jason Badower and Mark Sable

Check out another great interview from Ryan over at Heroes Wiki! This one is with with Mark Sable and Jason Badower, the writer and artist of the "Blackout" series of graphic novels. From Ryan:

It's lengthy, but it's a good read and neat to hear the two creators talk to each other for the first time. They talk about their process, collaboration, and are really open about their thoughts on the work. Jason even tells about a little Easter Egg he hid in the second part, and Mark lets spill a spoiler about a unique connection he has with a certain set of twins coming up in the second season.

Hana's New Article: Mayan Prophecy

Big thanks to Ghost22, who not only gave us a heads-up about the new post at Hana's blog, but also provided us with a loose translation of the new article.
